Problem : The hotel manager, Mr Paul Ferguson, was very keen to reduce his energy costs and its carbon footprint.

Proposal : The timely arrival of FootPrintMatters2U searching out companies wanting waste and energy solutions, soon provided an in depth, free of charge, audit of where costs could be saved and to what extent those savings would have on the environment.
After the presentation of the ‘easy to follow’ report, FootPrintMatters2U obtained the approval for the lighting to be replaced.

Solution : An interest free Carbon Trust Loan was applied for and approved and within 4 working days FootPrintMatters2U had carried out the replacement of the old lighting with the new L.E.D.& Compact Fluorescent Technology Replacement units. Simply by replacing the old lighting with the newer L.E.D. and Compact Fluorescent units, significantly reduced the Holiday Inn’s Carbon Footprint from 20.67 tons per annum to just 4.94 tons per annum, a saving of 76% on their lighting energy bills, which equates to an annual saving of up to £10,000+.

The repayments of the Interest Free Carbon Trust Loan taken over a 13 month term still enabled the Holiday Inn to become cash positive from the moment the replacement lighting was fitted. The hotel chain are so impressed with the savings, further hotels within the chain have now been selected to receive the benefits of this service, obviously FootPrintMatters2u have been chosen to complete the work.
