Battery Recycling, Disposal & Collection of Used Waste Batteries
Currently less than 3% of portable batteries in the UK are recycled. New regulations came into force on the 5th May 2009 and became enforceable on 1st January 2010. The new Battery Directive requires recycling levels to rise to 25% of batteries placed on the market by September 2012, and to rise to 45% September by 2016. This equates
to over 500 million batteries.
FootprintMatters2u provides Lead Acid battery, Lithium battery, Nickel Cadmium Battery and Alkali battery recycling at a low cost. Batteries are classed as a hazardous waste stream and with FootprinMatters2u's extensive background in hazardous waste we are perfectly positioned to provide a safe, clean and efficient battery recycling process.
